Headaches & Migraines
These conditions can be debilitating, and symptomatic of many further problems such as musculoskeletal disorders of the neck and jaw, high blood pressure, muscle tension of the neck or shoulders, sinusitis, whiplash and stress. The chances are you will experience some incarnation of the complaint at some point and we can help you manage when you do.
We are especially effective in our treatment of cervicogenic headaches, a type that starts in the muscular suboccipal area at the back of the head, and the most frequent type of headache. Here, the pain felt is what is known as referred pain, which, although felt in the head, is conversely indicative of problems in the neck or shoulder muscles. We are also experienced in reversing headaches brought on by mechanical imbalances of the neck, certain foods or environmental stimuli where other treatment proves elusive.
Treatments methods for headaches & migraines
Treatment aims to tackle the underlying cause of pain, mobilising stiff neck joints or tight muscles, improving core stability with the use of fortifying exercises and minimising soft tissue tension via the normalisation of the musculoskeletal system, with the promotion of better posture.
