Hamstring tears
The hamstring refers to any of the four tendons contracted by the three posterior thigh muscles. Injury at this site happens often in a variety of sports such as football, cricket athletics and rugby due both to a reduced moment of knee and hip flexion, to inadequate c o-contraction training of the knee along with overstretching or overstraining.
Treatment aims to decrease pain and reinstate full movement, subsequently progressing to strength and rehabilitation exercises. Our Co-contraction training develops programs that strengthen the connection between the hamstring and quadriceps to protect, support and stabilize the knee, vastly reducing the incidence of injury to the neighbouring tendons.
